Well

This is my first post at this new site..

I am happy to be here, to get to know other brothers and sisters and to be able to share with each other. I pray that we would be able to reach out to others and to reach out to those that maybe do not yet know Christ.

I have been thinking about Christmas time, because I have family travelling to be with us and the world is going crazy with the commercialisation of the season , everyone rushing around buying presents, trying to find the p

Your concern is the same as many others as well as myself. Christmas day has commercially become a family and friend gathering day for giving presents to each other and for honoring each other instead of God.
It's too late to stop it now and we are all guilty for making it this way. All we can do is repent for it now.
Long years ago there was always a Church gathering and dinner, and prayers, praise, and offerings, on Christmas day, no matter what day of the week that it come on, to give honor and praise only to the birth of Christ. There were no presents given to each other on Christmas until after a sixteenth century priest in the catholc church began giving some poor orphan children gifts around Christmas time, and told them they were gfts from the church and God. But when the priest passed on, the Children kept his spirit alive by Creating the mythical character of Saint Claus, now called Santa Claus that would eventually replace the worshp of Jesus in most all Childrens hearts at Christmas time.
How very twisted all this gift-giving has gotten, that has pulled the generations farther and farther away from honoring God and the birth of Christ.
But then we live in the last days before his return and this is just part of what was prophesied.
May he lead us all and guide us back to the way it should be.
